The ‘Wicked: For Good’ Trailer Is Finally Here—Watch It Now

Wicked, the blockbuster release last year, finally has its part 2 coming in November starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. The official Wicked: For Good trailer is finally out to the public, and is the rage of the week! Directed by Jon M. Chu, the films are based on Tony winning broadway musical "Wicked", which was inspired by the 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire that reimagines the iconic characters from The Wizard of Oz. The movie was split into 2 arts, the first part, Wicked: Part One, was released on Nov. 22, 2024, and the second part, later renamed Wicked: For Good, will debut in late 2025. In the newly released trailer, we see that Dorothy Gale will have a bigger role in the films than the musical, where she was only shown as a shadow. We can Dorothy and her friends walking down the yellow brick road in the trailer.“That intersection is the place that we were first introduced into Oz,” Chu told of Dorothy’s role in the films. “We tread lightly, but try to make more sense of how it impacts our girls and our characters than maybe the show does.” And for the fans who are scared of this upcoming change to the film, he responded, “We’re delicate. We’re delicate. We’re delicate.” Wicked: For Good will premiere Nov. 21, 2025, which is almost exactly a year after the release of the first film. Wicked: For Good picks up after the events of part one, where Elphaba and Glinda discover that the great wizard is actually a fraud, but then Elphaba is declared the new enemy of Oz.

Before the first movie, Wicked, was released, I had no clue it even existed. I was a very popular musical and most of the actors in the musical moved on to have big roles in franchises like Frozen or Tinker Bell. Though I had no clue what it even was until watching the first movie back in November. I instantly fell in love with it. It was one of those fantasy movies that stick with you for months after watching it. When I saw the new trailer for it had come out, I was over the moon. I instantly went to show my mom, who had also went to see the first movie with me when it had come out, and she was very excited aswell. The trailer shows so much but also so little at the same time. Many people have seen the musical so they know the events in part 2, but I have not seen the musical and have tried to stay spoiler free, so im very excited to be seeing something completely new! Jon M. Chu is an amazing director and I trust he knows what he is doing with these movies. Ariana Grande has been a dedicated fan of the series as well since a young age, and she protects her character with her life. Cynthia Erivo is a powerhouse of a vocalist and im so ecstatic to see the news songs with her, as well as her performance as the main character. Chu's comments on the movie make me trust him even more with the direction they take with the movie. In general, im so excited for the movie and for the performances of the actors!
